Russian Law Club is a public association of a professional legal community. The club was established on March 14, 2002. The club brings together the lecturers and students from the leading Russian law schools, young scholars, legal experts, government officials and politicians engaged in legal activity, law enforcement officials, practicing lawyers and solicitors.
The main business purpose is to maintain and enhance the occupational prestige of the lawyers, to foster the legal culture of the population, to eliminate lack of legal knowledge and legal nihilism, to engage the youth in the political life of the country, based on the principle of the state sovereignty of the Russian Federation, respecting the rights and freedoms of the individuals.
The priority activity of the Club is holding of the all-Russian, interregional and international research symposia, seminars, conferences, round tables, and creative meetings. Since 2006, the Club has been holding the Annual Russian Legal Forum “Jurisprudence: Education, Science, Career”. Since 2010, this forum has been held in the form of an all-Russian teleconference with interactive participation of the leading federal Russian universities. A distinctive feature of the events is the high professional level of speakers who are the leaders and officials of the legislative, executive, and judicial authorities.
The most active participants in the Russian Law Club at the regional level are the lawyers from Moscow, the Moscow region, Saint-Petersburg, the Krasnodar and Stavropol regions, the Rostov, Sverdlovsk, Saratov, Ulyanovsk, Nizhny Novgorod, Orenburg regions and other constituent entities of the Russian Federation.
The following institutions have become the first members of the Club, and have been supporting the mutually beneficial cooperation for a long period of time: O.E. Kutafin Moscow State Law University, the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration, Russian State Academy of Intellectual Property, Russian Customs Academy, All-Russian State University of Justice, I.M. Gubkin Russian State University of Oil and Gas, Russian State University of Public Justice, Peoples' Friendship University of Russia, Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation. As of January 1, 2019, 69 higher education institutions have become members of the Club.
The Russian Law Club performs the systematic, ongoing monitoring of the legal education quality. An effective system for public accreditation of the legal universities and law teachers has been implemented. The monitoring results are published in the media. The club publishes legal educational, methodological and monographic literature, assists in the employment of students, graduates, postgraduate students, supports the universities in the recruitment of highly qualified faculty and administrative staff.
